Black and white is an ongoing theme in this Craftsman Bungalow. We used black and white encaustic tile in both the master and children’s bathrooms.
In the master, we created an accent wall with a finely delineated black and white wall tile, which makes the black claw foot bathtub and floor mount tub filler stand out. We gave the adjacent walk-in shower a modern feel with horizontally stacked elongated white subway tile and a linear drain. Across from the bathtub and shower is a custom built double vanity with a make-up station and storage cabinet in the center. The vanity is painted a soft grey-green, which is a nice backdrop for the honed Cararra countertop and matte black faucets, drawer pulls, and lighting.
We used a black and white swiss cross pattern tile on the floor of the children’s bathroom, which pairs perfectly with the wall-mounted cast iron double sink. Simple white subway tile with black pencil liner trim adorns the walls as both the tub surround and wainscoting. We installed a custom built-in cabinet directly across from the playful sink and balanced the look by painting it black.
